Go herbal! We mean the eating type and not the smoking (wink).
Planting a herb is good for you and adds life to your food. Parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme are more than a song. They add zing to any dish you eat or serve. With spring in the air those green powerhouses of energy and taste can’t wait to get sprouting!
They can be used in landscape design, or simply to add beauty to a garden. Green your city the herbal way!
Instead of going for a bottle of spaghetti sauce, you can make your own with a fresh basil. You will never want the bottled stuff again.
Best of all, we plant a seed and see it grow. Watch nature in action!
Better still, you will also be reducing “food miles” – the distance food travels from where it is grown to where it is ultimately purchased or consumed by the end user. How much of the food you eat today will be produced far, far away using up fuel and polluting our atmosphere? By growing what we can locally we get awesome home-grown food while make a positive impact for the environment. Boom!
The VegPledge Challenge – Plant a seedling and see how it grows. You are welcome to share your baby plant pics with us through social media tagging #Vegpledge.
Are you up for it?
